Want to download the latest version of Mac software NordVPN. Not to visit so that their website and click on "Information Tools" from the main menu. Then, click "Download" in the resulting drop-down list.

once the client is downloaded to your computer, open the file from which you downloaded it. A window will appear asking you drag the icon NordVPN to your Applications folder. This will install the application on your computer. Open this folder NordVPN application to launch.
The first time the client starts, you will have to enter your NordVPN credentials to verify that you are authorized to use it. Note that the bottom of the screen says. "Log in to access the service NordVPN" To access the login screen, click on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) on the top left of the screen and it will slide as shown in the below. screen
Enter your NordVPN "Username" and "Password" and click the "Login" button. the application will automatically remember these. If you have forgotten your password, there is a link to start the process to reset. There is also a link to create an account NordVPN if you do not.
once you enter your credentials correctly, you will see a screen like the one shown above. Note that the bottom of the screen now shows "connected with success." This is the screen card. You can zoom in and out on the screen and select a location to connect by clicking on the pin in the country.
Before looking at the connection to a VPN server on the network NordVPN, let us take a look at the settings menu which replaces the connection menu. Click the Menu icon in the upper left corner to reveal the settings screen described below with some of the parameters expanded to show how they work.
The above screen is divided into three sections as follows:
- account info - This shows your name user and account expiration date.
- Since you are not connected to a VPN server, it shows your true public IP address
- Help -. Using three different ways you can get help with a question or problem.
- Blog - This will open the FAQ and main support web page so that you can search for the answers you seek
- Email support - .. This will open a support ticket for your question
- live chat - this will open a live chat session with one of NordVPN support staff. Based on the subject you choose, you can talk with an invoice or a technical support person
- Settings -. It contains parameters that let you control the general behavior NordVPN customer.
- Smart Play - setting to allow you to distribute some of your favorite streaming media that could be geo-restricted your country from one of NordVPN servers without the need to access a server in the country's media is broadcast from. This means you can connect to a server in your country and access flows from other regions without having to change the VPN server
- Autoconnect to -. This will open a window with a list of all servers NordVPN for you to choose a autoConnect when the application launches as shown in the image above
- Notifications - .. by activating this option will allow popups whenever you connect or disconnect from a server NordVPN
- Start at boot - This will automatically launch the client when you start your computer. Turn it on and autoconnect will help ensure that you are always connected to the VPN when using your machine
- Log Out - .. Clicking this will require that you re-enter your credentials the next time you log
now that we have examined some general settings of the client NordVPN Mac OS X, let us take a look at how easy it is to connect to a VPN server on their network use. All that is needed from the map screen is to click on a pin of the country you want to connect as was done by clicking on the axis USA in the screenshot below . Note the message now says: "You are successfully connected to the United States"

another way that you can connect to NordVPN service is to use the top search function at the center of the screen. you can search for a specific purpose as "Hulu stream" or specific countries such as the UK . If you are looking for a purpose, a number of countries appear to help you complete it. you just need to select a country you want to connect. Then click the Login button next to the search to complete connection.
The picture above shows a screenshot from the dropdown list that appears when you click the "I want ..." search box. This list is organized as follows:
- Favorite Servers - We'll look at how to set the preferred server later in our review
- Most recent . connections -. This shows the last five connections you made with the last connection displayed first
- All countries -. An alphabetical table of network countries NordVPN
- other purposes -. Watch Netflix, Hulu stream, use Torrents, and other specialty goals offered by NordVPN
Similar results can be obtained by clicking the Browse button as shown in the three screenshots following. below shows the list of countries in the screenshot. This is the default when you click the explore button. Selecting a country and clicking on connecting rocker complement your VPN connection to the fastest server in that country.
below shows the list, "select a country" filtered P2P The screenshot. Your choice is now just six countries, Brazil, Canada, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Sweden. When you select one of these then switch the connection switch, you can share confidential files on the network NordVPN.
The following screen shows the list, "select a country" filtered by Zattoo. Your choice is now just four countries that broadcast content Zattoo: France, Germany, Spain and Switzerland. Choose one of these, then switch the connection switch and you can be enjoying all your favorite shows Zattoo in seconds.
As you can see from the examples above, the VPN connection to the fastest server in a country is a simple process with the Mac client. Just choose the country in which you want to connect and enable logging on. You want a little more control over the server you connect to a particular country, you can click on the glasses in the upper right corner of the client screen.
This will open the server screen, including a complete list of all servers so you can choose the one you want to connect. To make that choice easier, each server has a% of the value of the load, the ping time (ms), and distance from you.
This server screen (shown above) will also allow you to select favorites as we mentioned earlier in this section. Just click on the heart open to the right of the server name. This will create a solid red heart that says this server is now a favorite. The display server is organized as follows :.
- Servers Favorites - This makes it easier to find and connect to your favorite servers because they are top of the list
- servers Purpose -. This includes Anti DDoS, Dedicated IP, Double VPN, VPN and Tor on television ultra fast servers
- Recent connections - This makes it easier to reconnect to a server that you have recently used if you find that you need
- list server - .. This list is sorted alphabetically by country
to connect to from a server, simply select a server and click the "Connect" button on the right side of the screen.
below shows the configuration parameters that the client has the screenshot. They are only three of them and they are:
- Measurement System - This will allow you to switch the indicated distances between the US Imperial system (miles) and metric (km)
- Protocol - This will let you switch between the two OpenVPN protocols.
- TCP - This is the transfer control protocol and for better reliability, but slower because of its detection and correction of errors packet transfers
- UDP -. This is the User Datagram Protocol and the default for most uses because it is faster than TCP
- enable DNS -. This will allow you to use your own DNS. You must use the DNS NordVPN, unless you have a reason not to so you can enjoy Smart Play and other features.
Notice that this screen also shows the current selection of the server and its settings. You can connect from this screen by clicking on the button "Connect" as well. The last tab we will look for the Mac client is the Kill Switch tab.
The circuit breaker, when activated, will allow you to choose the applications that will be stopped when the drops VPN connection. This can help keep your sensitive information safe from accidental exposure to the open Internet. Once you switch the circuit breaker, you will see a screen showing a list of applications you can add to it. Selecting an application and open it will add this application to the list of applications that will be killed if the VPN connection drops.

Just select a VPN server location, and click the "Connect" button or connect rocker to complete your connection to your chosen server. In map mode, simply click on the location of the card to connect to the fastest server in that country. It can not get much easier than that.
