BlueVPN +, connect your tablet to the internet with USB modem (3G or PSTN) - The BlueVPN + application allows the use of 3G or PSTN modems connected to the USB host port. Not all tablets have USB or microUSB port, but they are provided only with a proprietary connector; in these cases, you need an OTG cable or adapter for the special connector female USB connector.

Prerequisites

A) Make sure that your USB device is switched only modem function and self running is disabled:

the following procedure should be performed before using the key USB with BlueVPN

1) Connect the modem to a PC running Windows and make sure that it works.

2) Download Hyper Terminal application [extrairelefichierzipetexécutez hypertrm.exe

[for Windows XP you can find HyperTerminal under Star t> Programs> Accessories> Communications> HyperTerminal]

3) In the " Log description " write a name, say "Huawei", for example, then click OK.

4) Wait for the appearance of the window " connection " and in the "Connect using" the option to select the name of your USB modem (eg, "HUAWEI Mobile Connect - 3G modem"); click OK.

5) Close this window by pressing the button "Cancel".

6) On the bar tools of the program, press the last icon "Properties"; opens the " Properties " window
Select the "Settings" tab and click on the button "ASCII Setup" . put a check in the box next to "typed characters locally"
Click OK twice to close the ASCII configuration window and the Properties window .

7) in the main window, you should see a blinking cursor: turn the lock, type the command " aT " and press eNTER. If the answer is " OK " means that the terminal is connected to the modem.

8) Insert a that

For Huawey modems:

AT ^ = 0 U2DIAG (modem in the unit only)
AT U2DIAG ^ = 1 (the device as a modem + CD-ROM)
^ AT U2DIAG = 255 (the device as a modem + CD + card reader)
^ AT U2DIAG = 256 (the device as a modem + card reader).

to use the modem with a tablet of the USB key must be configured as "unit only modem"
Type the command aT ^ U2DIAG = 0 and press ENTER

For ZTE modems :.

AT + ZCDRUN = 8 (turn off the flash cd-drive)
AT + ZCDRUN = 9 (activate the flash cd-drive)

9) After the answer " OK " modem, c lose the Hyper Terminal window, answer "yes" to the proposal to interrupt a session and refusing to stay connected.

10) Make sure the CD emulation is off. To do this, unplug the modem from the USB port, then plug it into the same port. In "My Computer" should not appear a drive to the USB key.

If you need to get the modem to its original state, you must repeat the entire procedure, but using the command AT ^ U2DIAG = 255 (the device as a modem + CD + card reader).

All these actions are necessary for BlueVPN + version 1.5:
new versions include file with settings for the most popular devices and sends the code to automatically switch the USB modem function. Probably you need to confirm the message twice a USB exclusive access because after the passage of the device is disconnected and immediately returned with a different ID.

B) You need a powered USB hub if your Android device supplies low-power USB

on some tablets, it is often not enough available power for USB devices.
Wireless modems are among devices with the strongest demand for power (500 mA at right). Usually only a few larger tablets can provide that much power over their host ports (with Samsung even "devices 10.1 would be limited in power). The smaller ones often have their limit at 100 mA, which excludes the use of a wide range of devices. a notable exception is the Nexus 7, which works very well with many 3G sticks tied directly around the problem, you can use a (auto) powered hub :.

or a mobile power battery charger as that (Tekkeon TekCharge MP1820) showed in this video:

. NOTE: Some USB devices require a certain time after the passage of the modem before accepting AT commands; in this case it is possible to increase the parameter Connection Timeout
