The giant search engine considering investing in SpaceX, space Exploration Technologies Corp., spaceflight company to launch satellites to further expand the Internet coverage. If the investment goes ahead, it would provide yet another method to provide Internet worldwide. Google to invest in satellite Internet, the company has already announced its proposed plans to launch weather balloons in the sky, with the capacity to accommodate the wireless Internet, "Draft Loon". He would work with users who connect to the balloon from their phones or mobile devices which would then bounce Internet signals down to Earth.

Facebook is also exploring different avenues of Internet coverage in order to provide more people the service. Currently, just under 50% of the entire world connected to the Internet is registered to social media to Facebook hopes to improve it by reaching another untapped source in those who can not access the Internet. The company is looking into solar drones flying low to provide better online connectivity.

The investment in SpaceX is supposedly in the range of billions of dollars, the exact amount unknown. SpaceX is the first company in the world to get a contract to resupply the International Space Station. SpaceX was founded by Elon Musk in 02, with the long term objective of subsequently colonizing Mars. CEO of the company, Elon Musk, is expected to announce plans for a mission to Mars this year.
