Umbrella is a new security software for corporate buyers. It is a big concern for companies and their employees on corporate networks while out of the office and outside normal working hours. There is a concern on two levels. First, because it opens to flaws in the company's data protection armor, everyone could sneak in and even piracy, corporate data. Mobile workers in free zones unencrypted WiFi is a real weakness in the protection of corporate data. And secondly, because the abuse of technology during working hours is bad for productivity. Employees do not work when they are playing games or chatting on Facebook.

Umbrella allows an authorized administrator, back to the base, to control Internet browsing employees depending on where they are and when they are browsing. The control software is itself deposited on the Web. For example, "big brother" can choose to let an individual to get on Facebook only outside working hours. Or for safety reasons, Umbrella can prevent access to websites that are sources of "malware" or "botnets" known.

OpenDNS is the company that developed Umbrella. They are a company with a secure Domain Name System lookups expertise. The new software comes with filtering 57 portals that operate as nightclubs porters; letting in the good guys, but turning away the usual suspects. "VPNs" or VPN encrypted Internet traffic for an employee, so that any unauthorized traffic would only get to see gibberish.
