If you follow formula One racing, you are well aware of the two Mercedes teammates Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton. These two gentlemen are at the top of their race, and really have been all year. Surprisingly, Rosberg's victory over Hamilton last year in this race, Hamilton broke the winning streak. That said, the race was only the fifth victory for Rosberg, 10 vs Hamilton in the 2014 season
With the strength of these two competitors, it is no surprise that Mercedes setting records for the first and second place finishes this year. The victories were mostly given to one of these two competing all year. Because they are teammates and their car set-ups are similar, it is really exciting to watch Hamilton and Rosberg head to head. For many, this scenario invokes the spirit of IROC. The IROC is a race where the drivers have the same car, it highlights their driving skills, instead of the amount of money a team.
It is clear, at least with the results of the last two years, Hamilton is usually the best driver. Both drivers are known to run with precision. However, Rosberg seems to lack the one thing that separates the two, the heart. While Rosberg leads with all the precision of a finely tuned German vehicle, Hamilton added emotion into the mix. While it is possible that this is a coincidence, at least one of his second places came after an event that happened in his life.
