TotalVPN begin our review with a look at where they started. Total VPN was launched in November 2015. Officially Pseudio Ltd. DBA TotalVPN is a trademark of The Endurance International Group, Inc., which provides VPN services to individuals for personal use. TotalVPN Premium is offered in a single plane with the terms of one month and one year. Like many providers in the VPN space, they offer a discount if you buy a longer-term plan. TotalVPN provides a couple of different ways for you to pay for their VPN service. You can pay using PayPal, credit card and Visa debit cards (Electron and Delta). Connecting with Windows VPN customer
Let us now take a look at how we can configure Windows to use the TotalVPN service. First, you'll need to download the Windows application for your computer. The second way that you can connect to a server on the network TotalVPN is to highlight the location you want to connect like we did in the screenshot on the left in the image below. This will replace the image of the house with a world map with our location marked on highlighted her country flag icon and the name of the place. Changing locations log out of your current server and then log in to your new location. There are two ways to change the connection sites. The last thing we want to look for the Windows client icons in the upper right screen. We have already looked at the first of them, the icon of the house, which takes you to the quick login screen. Beside this is the gear icon and a question mark icon in a communication of the bubble. The question mark will open the site's support page TotalVPN.
The gear icon will provide information and options that you can set for the Windows client. These are:

- IKEv2 - provides the best encryption and recommended for most uses

the image below shows a screenshot of some of these parameters. Also on this screen you will notice the yellow star next to the Amsterdam location. This means that it has been selected as a preferred location. By clicking on a star faded next to a location, it will be a favorite. By clicking on the star above the search button will change the yellow and display a list of your favorites in alphabetical order.
Log in with Mac OS X
TotalVPN also a client for Mac users who have the same functionality as the Windows client. You download the first log into their website, application choice from the menu, then selecting the Mac OS icon. Click the green download now button. Once you have downloaded the file, run it and install it on your computer. You will now be able to edit or modify the selected few mouse clicks servers. The client Mac OS X supports the protocols and defaults PPTP and Cisco IPSec PPTP but you can change that. We recommend that you use IPSec for all your Internet transactions other than streaming applications.
Log in with Android
TotalVPN has a client for Android users as well. As with other applications, you can log on to their website, choose the application from the menu, click the Android icon, and click the button get it on Google Play. This brings you to Google Play where you can immediately download the application on your device. Download and install the application on your device and log in using your email address and password, as shown below. You can also choose to remember these so you do not have to enter them each time you connect. When you log in for the first time, you can get a warning message like the one shown on the right below. You have to trust them for TotalVPN service work.
Once you are logged in, you will see a welcome screen like the one shown in the first screenshot below. From this screen, you can drag the icon or select from the list on the top at the top right to see all locations. The screenshot in the middle below shows the location of the menu where you can search a selection of location to connect. The last screen shows the locations that have been selected as favorites, which can be accessed by pressing the star next to the icon in the above list search. You can toggle between the two views. As for the client window, you can select one of the flag icons and press settings (three dots on the top right) icon and select Quick Connect to return to the home screen.
The screenshots below show the results of tapping on the New York location and selecting the Login button. Images from left to right show the connection process: no connection, connection, and connected. Each screen shows your connection position, the server name, assigned IP address, and the protocol used by the connection. Once logged in, a session time will also be presented. The Android app TotalVPN supports only the most secure encryption protocol, OpenVPN.
The settings icon lets you return to the Home screen displays the account information, and allows you to disconnect from the network. The Android app makes it very easy for Android users to select or change locations while using TotalVPN service.
Login with iOS
TotalVPN's an app for iOS users as well. As with other applications, you can log on to their website, choose the application from the menu, click the icon on the iOS device, and click the download from the App Store button. This will take you to the App Store where you can immediately download the application on your device. Install the app on your iOS device (iPhone, iPad) and login using your email address and password. Similarly for Android application, when the first attempt to connect to a VPN server, you will be required to allow TotalVPN add VPN configurations on your device. Click enable this prompt. IOS apps features similar to the Android application we discussed previously. The iOS app will allow you to choose between Cisco IPsec IKEv2 or default and Cisco IPSec.
TotalVPN Speed Test
We were satisfied with the overall performance of the TotalVPN Service. You can see in the speed test lower than their well performed service in our speed test. As expected, there was some loss of speed while connected to their service due to the encryption used by the connection. However, it was small in the case of TotalVPN.
As you can see from the images above, the encrypted connection TotalVPN lowered my ISP download speed Basic 56.89 Mb / s to 52.80 Mb / s. This represents a decrease of less than 8%, which is one of the best we've seen. Similar results were found when we connected to other places with most between 10% and 15%, which is an excellent compromise for the security of the encryption of the connection. The only place we noticed was performing in Amsterdam. When looking at this server on our account page of their website, we noticed that it was heavily loaded. As always, we recommend that you test the service yourself to see how it works for you.
