We learned this morning several places in the Sandwich Jimmy John Gourmet stores were affected by a security breach of credit card data and customer flow. In fact, Jimmy John would have learned about a breach of security possible in their system on 30 July and hired a third detective to contain the situation.

The company said that the hacker stole the credentials of a supplier and used to remotely access the POS systems of several corporate and franchised locations between 16 June 2014 and 5 September 2014. Approximately 216 stores were affected by the security breach. The security compromise would have been contained and that the company has installed new machinery encrypted magnetic and implement other system enhancements to further secure their customer information.

Jimmy Jean is one of the many channels which was recently reported to have been security breaches target.
