Two EU agencies, namely Europol and Eurojust were on Blackshades track, a malware that allows cybercriminals hijack a remote computer.
More than half a million computers in more than 100 countries have been infected with this sophisticated malware.
The police and judicial operation lasted for two days, in fact, looking for inventors, users and suppliers of Blackshades RAT malware. More than 80 people suspected criminals were arrested in six countries and three continents. In Europe, the arrests took place in France, the Netherlands but also in Germany, Estonia, Great Britain, Austria, Denmark, Croatia, Italy, Finland, Switzerland and Moldova. Some were also held in Australia, the US, Canada and Chile.
According to "The Hacker News" site, the FBI may have played an active role in the arrests that took place in Europe and Australia.
