A number of images of breastfeeding women, women in their underwear and revealing their nipples were removed from a number of networks social media, including Facebook and Instagram deeming them inappropriate.
And it caused quite a stir in the world of celebrity which in turn has strengthened the country FreeTheNipple. Led by filmmaker and activist Lina Esco, the campaign is the fight against the problem of Internet censorship in America, and the laws in force in the United States where it is illegal for a woman to be topless in 35 states including breastfeeding in many of them
A number of celebrities who support the campaign for gender equality (especially those are not shy about flashing their flesh) include Miley Cyrus, who discovered her breast in New York and has posted on Twitter and Rihanna, who posted her topless cover for him on Instagram. The daughter of Bruce Willis Scout made headlines around bare foot crossed in New York, one of the few US states where it is not illegal to bare your chest as though FreeTheNipple "the NYPD continues to arrest women "who do. and more recently British model Cara Delevingne has joined the campaign by posting a topless snap on his Instagram account.
a film of the same name and based on a true story, is the creating Lina Esco, to "change these inequalities through film, social media and a grassroots campaign."
Esco said "Today there is more violence in PG-13 films and in R-rated movies, and an average child in America sees over 16,000 murders on television at the age 18 years with the amount of violence firearms and mass shootings in the United States, we must take a deeper look at how movies and television affect our youth and our culture. What is more obscene: a murder or a nipple "
Instagram has since revised their policy and have updated their help center, which now says" We agree that breastfeeding is natural and beautiful and we are happy to know it is important for mothers to share their experiences with others on Instagram. The vast majority of these photos are compliant with our policies. "
Revealing your nipples in the context of breastfeeding is more or less tolerated, but there is still much work to do to raise the bias against women's bodies.
