since yesterday, February 4th, we experienced a persistent DDoS attack but inefficient and unprofessional against our website.
We assume that this DDoS attack could be related to the new Chinese attempts to fight against VPN providers. This attack also came just after the launch of a new VPN service that HybridVPN brought an innovative solution to a VPN growing market.
The attack came mainly from China and regarded as a botnet attack midrange. The team VPN estimated its size to be around 15,000 to 16,000 bots.
The VPN security specialists were very excited about this attack and already put their helmets prepare to defend their right to be certified CISSP and CEH. But, unfortunately, there has not been a great adventure for them that this attack was totally ineffective due to advanced DDoS protection mechanisms VPN.
