Hunted: Channel testing 4 - Could you survive out network -

How long can you survive off the grid? Hunted, a new TV series for Channel 4 in the UK, challenges 14 people to survive outside the network, to escape the detection of the state of monitoring the UK.

There are up 6 million CCTV surveillance cameras in the UK, "one for 14 people," according to an investigation by the security agency UK (OFIS), and the great Britain is not the only country where Big Brother casts his gaze. Chicago, USA has reported 10,000 video surveillance cameras and some reports estimate there are 100 million CCTV cameras in the world .

There are not that CCTV cameras that threaten our right to privacy. We tracked down and looked around the clock, our Internet activity monitoring surf, governments collect our metadata everything we do on our phone or computer, facial recognition technology deployed in airports, universities and even matchmaking websites online dating, and even our TV listening into our conversations !

We are never alone! Is it not comforting to know ?!

new series TV Channel 4 Hunted "documentary section, a thriller game" explores the topic of online security and privacy by questioning 14 people who take on the role of Dr. Richard Kimble of the thriller action "the fugitive" and run for their lives to escape all seeing eye of Big Brother.

Just watching the trailer Hunted left me feeling apprehensive. It's like a mixture of Jack Bauer in '24', 'The Blair Witch Project "and" The Running Man ".

I think one of the reasons we like a TV show or movie is that we can identify with one or more of fictional characters, either disgust or admire, or can -being that we might wish to be more like a particular character. Hunted ticks this need to "identify" with a character millions of us, tracked and monitored 24/7, can easily identify the fugitives on the run.

The format of the show consists of a group consisting of former police offers, cyber security experts and trackers led by the former head of the fight against terrorism Brett Lovegrove, and commander captain David Blakeley, former commander of the British military unit the Pathfinders.

Talk to The Guardian Lovegrove said: "We will raise these issues in a thrilling but factually .. . I do not care if people get angry as long as they are discussing it. Most of the information that the state can collect is actually out there on social media anyway, it is not secret. It is like hanging your laundry. You turn the pages of your life on the line and allowing everyone to see. "

The 14 fugitives fled in May earlier this year and their mission is to avoid capture for 28 days. Does mice outwit cats?

a person can really go, can they survive outside network? According to Blakely fall out network is not for the "It's a cowardly dark place. I think that's why, in real life, so few fugitives manage to go on the track successfully forever. cowardice does not apply. "

do you think it would be easy to escape a surveillance state, sever ties with family and friends and survive without your smartphone, tablet or other gadgets compatible with internet? I'd be lucky to endure for a day!

How do you survive outside the network, and how long do you think you last?

Hunted will be broadcast on Channel 4 Thursday, September 10th. Personally I can not wait to tune in to see how the fugitives succeed. We want to know what you think of the show, so please add your thoughts here on our blog.
