in a rare gesture of the giants of the Californian technology, Apple joined argument against the proposed security law in the UK that could see the security of millions of people affected. The plan of the British government to approve and pass a bill that would greatly increase the governments of investigative powers as well as law enforcement agencies. The bill would significantly weaken encryption, and not only allow governments more control, but ultimately jeopardize millions of innocent citizens.

Apple are concerned that the changes would affect their own services, particularly iMessage, as it would allow agencies to listen to messages. In a proposal submitted to Monday Bill Committee, Apple asked for certain changes that online security to keep in touch. The company explains that the encryption would mean weakening weaken security for hundreds of millions of users in order to weaken the little bit that would be a threat.

The argument of privacy and online security has long gone on and no solution in sight, with both parties with solid arguments on what and who would be protected. Apple also like to say that in this day and age of ever increasing security threats, companies should be free to implement strong encryption to protect their clients. If the bill passes, it means that hackers have an easier time accessing unauthorized data. Essentially, it will create more situations as violations of Talk Talk and Sony Pictures. Those supporting the bill said that it does not weaken security but actually strengthen security while giving more control over potential threats supervisors and neutralize them. Opposers say that by giving backdoor access means only the bad guys have potential access too.
