Mozilla and others laugh anti-espionage campaign enterprises

Mozilla and several other policy, technology and business groups have launched a campaign calling for action to be taken against federal agencies snoop on Internet use American citizens. The calls are in response to recent reports that the NSA has collected phones and users of corporate data, including Microsoft, Facebook and Verizon. Mozilla and others have set up a website called StopWatching.us with a petition asking Congress to revise the law to create a commission of inquiry, and exposing public officials who sanctioned "unconstitutional surveillance" .

Google detects phishing attacks in Iran before the elections

Google claims to have detected and blocked thousands of phishing attacks trying to steal passwords and other personal data of Iranian-mail accounts. The news comes before the presidential election today, and the company said the attacks appear to come from inside Iran. The company said a "significant jump" in the overall volume of phishing activity during the past three weeks, noting that the timing and targets suggest they were politically motivated. Google vice president of security engineering, Eric Grosse, warned Iranian users to take extra precautions to protect their accounts of "state-sponsored attacks."

The shorts that charge your phone on the road

Southampton University and the Vodafone telephone company showed a denim shorts and sleeping bags using body heat and movement to generate enough electricity to charge your mobile phone on the road. Vodafone has found that a day of walking and dancing while wearing shorts was enough to give a mobile phone the value of the charge of four hours through the production of kinetic energy.
